Diamond Preview 2021: Rabun County

The Lady Wildcats are just 2 seasons removed from arguably their best season in school history, when they went 14-9 on the way to the Sweet 16. Last year saw a dip in wins, but a return to state. With several key players back in 2021, this run for Rabun should be similar to 2019. Alma Arnold takes over the program from Angela Shepheard.

Head Coach: Alma Arnold, 1st Season
2020 Record:
8-15; State Rnd 1

Key Departures: N/A

Key Returning Players: Birdie Jordan, Ayahna Jenkins, Danielle Loggins, Mary Lovell

Birdie Jordan, Ayahna Jenkings, Danielle Loggins, and Mary Lovell make for quite the core in a lineup. All hit above .323 last season, with Jordan batting .390. If someone steps up in the circle, scoring runs shouldn’t be an issue for this group.

Strengths & Areas of Focus

Strengths: Offense. These girls can and will hit the ball.

Focusing On: Run differential. That means pitching and defense behind it.
