Through each 4-week span of the season, we recognize the BLITZ Defensive Players of the Month. This month’s winners are Duke Collins (Stephens County), Jacob Berardinelli (Jefferson), and Elliott Harbin (Franklin County). Collins won the Fan Vote with 8,288 of the 20,028 total votes. Berardinelli and Harbin were the BLITZ Picks.
DUKE COLLINS – STEPHENS COUNTY
Duke Collins is off to a terrific start to the season. The junior CB had 18 tackles and one for loss. He has an interception to his credit and four PBUs. This is his second career BLITZ award.
JACOB BERARDINELLI – JEFFERSON
Jacob Berardinelli has been a ball hawk through the first four games for the Dragons. Not only has he picked up 33 tackles from the safety position, but he’s already got three interceptions and a PBU. The senior takes his first-ever BLITZ award.
ELLIOTT HARBIN – FRANKLIN COUNTY
Elliott Harbin has made some history already at Franklin County. The junior linebacker has a mind-boggling 46 tackles in just three games (2.5 technically) so far, with seven TFLs and two sacks. He set a school record with 23 tackles against East Hall in Week 2. This is his second career BLITZ award.
