It’s about time for some basketball! We present you with a team-by-team preview to get you up to date on where each school stands heading into the 2026-27 season. Team Previews are presented by My GA Credit Union!

Head Coach: Tess Wright (2nd Season)
2025-26 Record/Results: 8-17; Region 5th; No Playoffs

Since the 2020-21 Elite 8 run that produced 19 wins, the Lady Indians went through a tough stretch that included just 12 wins over the next four seasons combined. Then came Tess Wright, who guided the team to eight wins a year ago, matching the combined total of the previous two seasons. Now, with some new faces and ZERO seniors, this young group has a chance to put the program back in the spotlight.

STRENGTHS & CHALLENGES

EXPECTATIONS

From the Coach: “Last season, we improved our record, doubling our win total and recording the most wins for the program in the past five seasons. We want to continue building on that progress this year. Our goal is to get up and down the floor on both the offensive and defensive ends while being able to make adjustments quickly. We want to compete hard, play together, and continue improving throughout the season. Our goal is to be competitive and make the playoffs this year. Our team motto is M3 (Me Third), which means putting our faith first, others second, and ourselves third. We emphasize being great teammates, working hard, and looking for opportunities to serve others before ourselves while also finding ways to give back and serve our community.”

From BLITZ: Bringing in a sharpshooter like Maecee Crumley is HUGE, and add in what Makinsey Huff brings to the table as well, it’s a chance for this program to truly take a giant leap. Saige Weckesser proved last season what she is capable of, though this young team is bound to get even better as the season progresses. The real question is how quickly they will gel together, as there’s no doubting the skill this group possesses.
