Arguably, the best season in school history for Towns County happened last fall. The Indians tied the program mark with seven wins, and had the best balance of offense and defense they’ve ever put on the field. Coach Jason Roquemore has built this program to this point, but now has a new challenge to replace several standouts on both sides of the ball.

“I know we lost a ton to graduation (10 seniors) and those guys will be hard to replace, but I am excited to see how the group we got coming embraces the opportunities that they are going to have,” says Roquemore. “They have done a great job of finding a way to contribute this summer.”

New name for you – Alfonso Giampola – he’ll be the starting QB for the Indians. Alex Baert had a monster season at RB as just a sophomore, and comes back to be the bell-cow on offense this fall. Sam Sarafin will be a go-to option to get the ball in his hands as well. Kamdyn Mooney will be the most-targeted WR.

Defense: 3-4
Look for Alex Baert (LB), Tucker Wheeler (DL), and Eli Collins (DB) to anchor the defense this season.

Trenches: “OL play will need to be huge for us this fall,” adds Roquemore. “Noah Davis, Tucker Wheeler, Mason Gills, Bryson Blevins are all returning starters. DL was hit hard by graduation. We lost two of our three up front. We will need some kids to continue to develop over the summer and into fall camp.”

STRENGTHS & AREAS OF FOCUS

Strengths: “We have a lot of new faces in new places. However, we do return several up front on the OL who have ‘grass time’ under their belts. We will look to lean on them.”

Focusing On: “Being a ‘contributor’ vs being a ‘consumer.’”
