The BLITZ Football Players of the Week are Rett Hemphill (Jefferson) and Javin Gordon (Stephens County).

RETT HEMPHILL – JEFFERSON

Every team wants a guy like this that can truly do it all. Rett Hemphill, a SR Swiss Army Knife for the Jefferson Dragons, had the game of his life to lift his team into the Quarterfinals. He had 13 tackles (2 for loss), a sack, pick-6, blocked PAT, and had 28 rushing yards and a TD. This is his 3rd career POW award.

JAVIN GORDON – STEPHENS COUNTY

What a legendary performance by Javin Gordon. Playing at #2-ranked Callaway, the Indians pulled off a massive upset, and got back into the Quarterfinals for the first time since 2005. Gordon did it all. He rushed for 103 yards and 2 TD, adding 71 receiving yards and 49 kick return yards. Then, he had a 51-yd passing TD, and had time to chip in with a tackle for loss. This is his 6th career POW award.
