A fan vote to determine the Last Finalist up for Football Player of the Year netted 12,190 votes, with 6,830 going in favor of Seth Rutan (Union County). He becomes the eighth finalist to join the pool. That group consists of: Sammy Brown (Jefferson), Jaiden Daniels (Commerce), Cal Faulkner (Lumpkin County), Willie Goodwyn (Rabun County), Javin Gordon (Stephens County), Seth Rutan (Union County), Mason Sullens (Lumpkin County), and Caiden Tanner (Union County).

WHAT’S NEXT? This finalist group will be voted on internally with a panel of up to 25 local media reporters, former GHSA officials, coaches, etc to determine the Player of the Year. The voting is Heisman-style.
