PEYTON WOOD – LUMPKIN COUNTY

Lumpkin County’s Peyton Wood has been a large reason for the Indians’ quick start to the season. The junior left fielder and pitcher led Lumpkin at the plate last week in 3 games. He batted .500, going 5-for-10, adding 3 walks for an OBP of .615. He had 3 RBI, 3 doubles, and a triple. On the mound, he struck out 3 across 2.1 innings of work. This is Wood’s first POW award.

NICK RANDALL – STEPHENS COUNTY

This has to be one of the most dominant weeks we’ve seen. Nick Randall more than earned this award, as the pitcher/DH for Stephens County went 2-0 with a spotless 0.00 ERA, striking out 22 in 10.2 innings of work. One of those starts was a combined no-hitter. The senior gave up just a single hit across 2 games. At the plate, Randall hit .417, smashing a homer and driving in 5 runs. He had 3 doubles and a triple as well. This is Randall’s first POW award.
