Mauldin, Porter grab Player of the Week awards
The BLITZ Fan Vote for Girls Basketball Player of the Week was Laura Mauldin (Towns County) after taking 11,424 of the 18,329 total votes. BLITZ then named Kirklyn Porter (Dawson County) as Co-POW.

Talk about a stellar game of doing the little things. Junior forward Laura Mauldin’s point total in a game for Towns County last week is not eye-catching. She had 5 points. However, she hauled in 9 rebounds as well, came up with 4 steals, and took 4 charges as well. It was a phenomenal showcase of hustle for Maudlin, who claims her fourth career POW award.
