Hoops Preview: White County Warriors

The Warriors are riding the momentum of back-to-back Sweet 16 runs. Add in that they are bringing back arguably the best player in school history in senior Jadon Yeh, and White County has a chance to do something extra-special in 2022-23!
HEAD COACH: Robbie Bailey (3rd Season)
2021-22 RECORD: 18-10, Region 7-AAA Regular Season Region Champions, 3A State Sweet 16
RETURNING STARTERS: 3. Jadon Yeh, Noah Futch, Chad West
KEY DEPARTURES: Silas Mulligan (1st Team All-Region, Piedmont University), Kenny Simpson (1st Team All-Region, Toccoa Falls), Tavi Simmons (top defensive player)
KEY PLAYERS: SR G Jadon Yeh (20.5 PTS, 6.4 REB, 3.6 AST, Region POY), JR F Noah Futch (4.4 PTS, 4.3 REB), SR F Chad West (2.6 PTS, 2.2 REB), SR G Dawson Bailey (4.0 PTS, 2.5 REB, 1.1 AST), SO F Dawson Oliver (4.7 PTS, 2.5 REB), JR G Zach McCoy, SO G David Boman, SO G Tripp Nix, SR F Eli Shooemake, JR G Reid Tanner, JR F Logan Schindler
OFFENSE: Uptempo
STRENGTHS: “We have a lot of experience coming back and we’ve had a great offseason,” states Bailey. “These guys have played a lot of basketball together.”
BIGGEST CHALLENGES: “Continue to improve defensively and have to rebound well,” adds Bailey.

Point blank, the Warriors have one of, if not, THE best player in Northeast Georgia in Jadon Yeh. With the synergy this Warriors team plays with, it will be hard for anyone in 7-AAA to beat White County. With the trio of starters and guys that played significant minutes last season, the team brings back plenty of experience. The offense will tire out opposing teams often, and Yeh might average 30 per game.
“We expect to contend for a region championship and a state tournament berth,” says Bailey.
