XC Region Recap: 7-3A


The cross country region meet is complete for Region 7-AAA. Here are the local team’s results, with team finish and top-10 runners individually (or best individual runner).
DAWSON COUNTY GIRLS
LADY TIGERS – 2ND PLACE (QUALIFIED FOR STATE)
The Lady Tigers were region runner-up behind junior Anna LeCave’s 6th-place finish at 20:53. freshman Hayden Hand (8th, 21:02) and junior Jules Phillips (9th, 21:22) also placed in the top 10.
DAWSON COUNTY BOYS
TIGERS – 3RD PLACE (QUALIFIED FOR STATE)
The Tigers qualified for state with a 3rd-place team finish. Junior Tyler Tangel was 8th with a 17:52, and sophomore Bailey Swafford 10th with an 18:09.

LUMPKIN COUNTY GIRLS
LADY INDIANS – 5TH PLACE
The Lady Indians came in 5th, missing on state. Freshman Keli George was the lead runner at 12th overall with a 21:53 time.

LUMPKIN COUNTY BOYS
INDIANS – 4TH PLACE (QUALIFIED FOR STATE)
The Indians qualified for state with the 4th and final spot. Junior Ben Sherrill was the region runner-up with a 16:44 time, while sophomore Wyatt Windham was 4th at 17:11.

WHITE COUNTY GIRLS
LADY WARRIORS – 4TH PLACE (QUALIFIED FOR STATE)
The Lady Warriors grabbed the final spot for state, and were led by region champion senior Nealeigh Broadwell (20:01).
WHITE COUNTY BOYS
WARRIORS – 5TH PLACE
The Warriors didn’t qualify for state, though Alex Brannon led White County with a 19th-place finish at 18:53.
