Tigers shrug off slow start, capitalize on turnovers to shut out Warriors [VIDEO]

Dawson County and White County were locked in a scoreless draw in which neither team entered the red zone in the first half. The Tigers (4-2) got on the board after dialing up a trick play with 6 seconds to go in the half, successfully completing a hook and ladder play to pull ahead. Dawson recorded 4 interceptions that aided in what turned out to be a 31-0 blowout.

Tripp Nix was picked off 3 times, including on the opening drive for the Warriors (2-3). Neither team got far for the first 23 minutes. The Tigers penciled up, and converted, a perfect hook and ladder from Davis Glass to Dom LeBlanc, who quickly tossed to the trailing Matt Bennett for a 48-yd TD and the go-ahead score.

Nix was immediately picked off in the third, as Bennett returned it inside the red zone. Glass ran one in from 6 yards out for the 14-0 lead, and LeBlanc later connected on a 32-yd FG to widen the advantage to 17-0. Nix got picked off later in the quarter, and Kenny Nelson scored on a 34-yd TD to put the game out of reach at 24-0. Nelson got a pick-six in the fourth quarter to cap the scoring.
