Tangel, Sanders claim Runner of the Week awards


The BLITZ Fan Vote for XC Runner of the Week saw 16,610 votes come in, with Tyler Tangel (Dawson County) taking the most at 6,406. BLITZ then named Grady Sanders (Stephens County) as Co-ROW.
TYLER TANGEL – DAWSON COUNTY

Tyler Tangel on September 8 registered a new PR of 18:17 at the North Hall Invitational, placing 37th overall in a crowded field. Then two days later, he was not far from that with an 18:49 time and 14th-place finish at the Carrollton Invitational. The junior earns his first POW award.

GRADY SANDERS – STEPHENS COUNTY

Stephens County’s Grady Sanders claims his long-awaited first Runner of the Week award. He’s long been a standout for the Indians, but the senior put it together last week with a 4th-place finish in the team’s meet at Tallulah Falls in the Cookies ‘n Quotes Invite. He finished with a time of 18:48.
