Smith, Whittington earn Player of the Week honors
The BLITZ Fan Vote for Football Player of the Week saw 23,404 votes come in, with Jasec Smith (Stephens) taking the most at 10,930. BLITZ then named Zeke Whittington (Habersham Central) as Co-POW.

Jasec Smith got it done in all phases last week for the Indians. The junior WR/DB had 2 receptions for 69 yards, both going for TDs. That’s 34.5 yards per catch. He also tallied 7 tackles, including 2 tackles for loss. This is Smith’s first POW award.

Zeke Whittington has earned this POW award. The sophomore hauled in 151 receiving yards on a mind-blowing 12 catches for Habersham Central in Week Four. That accounted for all but ONE of the team’s passing/receiving yards. He averaged 12.6 yards per catch, and tallied a pair of tackles as well. This is Whittington’s first POW award.
