McCall, Bailey tabbed softball POWs
The BLITZ Fan Vote for Softball Player of the Week saw 34,603 votes come in, with Jacie McCall (Rabun County) taking the most at 13,462. BLITZ then named Layne Bailey (Dawson) as Co-POW.
JACIE MCCALL – RABUN COUNTY
Jacie McCall went 6-for-8 last week for the Lady Cats, batting .750. The sophomore second baseman drove in 3 runs and scored 4 times in claiming her first-ever POW award. McCall becomes the 200th sophomore ever to win a BLITZ POW award.

LAYNE BAILEY – DAWSON COUNTY
It hasn’t been the best of seasons for Dawson County in the W-L department, but the talent is there and it’s only a matter of time. It seems the Lady Tigers have turned a corner last week with a win, as junior Layne Bailey got the ‘W’ by allowing 2 earned runs over 7 innings, striking out 12 in the process. This is Bailey’s third POW award.
