Habersham doubles unit earns ‘Last Finalist’ vote, up for POY

After narrowing down a list of 23 girls tennis players to just five finalists, we opened it up for a public vote to add the LAST FINALIST. 13,059 votes were logged in total, and 6,988 of those were in favor of Habersham Central’s doubles unit of McKenzie Chitwood and Lyndee Carver.

The doubles combo (Chitwood is a junior, Carver a sophomore) went 7-13 overall at #1 doubles, going up against some of the best teams in the state. The combo unit joins Kamden Cotton (Commerce), Cady Geddings (Lumpkin), Addison Hoard (Banks), Carson Hobbs (Commerce), and Abby Sego (Rabun) as finalists to be up for POY honors.
