Sophomores Mauldin, Tolbert take POW honors
The BLITZ Girls Soccer Player of the Week Fan Vote collected 7,111 total votes, with Laura Mauldin (Towns County) taking 4,400 to win the POW Fan Vote. BLITZ then named Ivy Tolbert (Commerce) as Co-POW.
LAURA MAULDIN – FAN VOTE
Laura Mauldin was phenomenal between the pipes in Towns County’s opening round game. The sophomore let nothing by her, collecting 24 saves and preserving a 1-0 clean sheet for the Lady Indians as they advanced into the Sweet 16 due to her heroics. This is Mauldin’s third POW award of her career.

IVY TOLBERT – BLITZ PICK
She’s at it again! Ivy Tolbert is one of those players who could earn the POW award each week. In Commerce’s first round game of the state playoffs, the sophomore midfielder had yet another hat trick in a 5-goal, 2-assist performance to lift the Lady Tigers into the Sweet 16! This is Tolbert’s fourth POW award this season and sixth of her career.
