The BLITZ Boys Basketball Player of the Week Fan Vote collected 15,915 total votes, with Union County’s Houston Henry taking 8,067 to win the POW Fan Vote. BLITZ then named both Rabun County’s Gus Hood and Towns County’s Collin Crowder Co-POW.

HOUSTON HENRY – FAN VOTE

Houston Henry has more than just a cool name. The freshman guard has been a solid piece to Union County’s team this year. Last week in 2 games, he averaged 8 points, 3 boards, 3 assists, and 3 steals per contest. This is his first POW award.

GUS HOOD – BLITZ PICK

Gus Hood has been a playmaker for quite awhile at Rabun County, but last week was something special even for him. The senior point guard averaged 21 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists over 2 games for the Wildcats, and shot 61% from the field including 50% on splash attempts. This is Hood’s first POW award.

COLLIN CROWDER – BLITZ PICK

Collin Crowder earns his third POW award of the season. In the Towns County game last week, he scored a ridiculous 40 points and made it a double-double with 10 rebounds as well. He also found time to dish out a pair of assists. This is his 4th career POW award.
