The BLITZ Boys Basketball Player of the Week Fan Vote collected 1,939 total votes, with Towns County’s Collin Crowder taking 1,190 to win the POW Fan Vote. BLITZ then named Habersham’s Mekhi Mawdesley Co-POW.

Towns County lost just about everyone from their state title winning team last year. However, a few mainstays are back, including senior Collin Crowder. He is showing out early, averaging 26 points, 9.5 rebounds, and 2.5 steals per game over the first two. This is Crowder’s second POW award.

Newcomer Mekhi Mawdesley is forming a great bond already with the Raiders, and is a great compliment to Malachi Dooley. The senior guard exploded in his debut week for Habersham with a 36-point performance against Banks County. He averaged 23.5 points over his first 2 games. This is Mawdesley’s first – and probably not his last – POW award.
