RBs Dyer, Daniels take Football Player of the Week awards

The BLITZ Football Player of the Week Fan Vote collected 5,932 total votes, with Dawson County’s Conley Dyer taking 2,666 to win the POW Fan Vote. BLITZ then named Jaiden Daniels (Commerce) Co-POW.

Conley Dyer was leaned on early and often for the Tigers as they beat Lumpkin in Week 11. The senior running back toted the rock for 136 yards, and scored 3 times. This is Dyer’s second-ever POW award.

Jaiden Daniels has been running like a man on a mission. It’s easy to forget the Commerce running back is just a freshman. After all, he barely played the first 2 games of the season on offense. Then he exploded in Week 3, and hasn’t looked back. His latest effort saw him go for 230 yards, scoring not one…not two…not even three…but FOUR touchdowns! For the season, Daniels has 1,271 rushing yards and 12 TDs, and has 24 receiving yards and 73 kick/punt return yards. On defense, the frosh has an interception to go along with 12 tackles and a pass breakup. This is Daniels’ second POW award.
