Habersham Central Raiders 21, White County Warriors 12

The Raiders won a defensive battle over White County. A blocked punt and recovery by Garrett Turner got the scoring started, then Brennan Clouse added a pick six. A Simarcus Burney 12-yd TD was all Habersham would need. White County got a TD from Darius Cannon and another from Silas Mulligan in the 21-12 final.

#1 Rabun County Wildcats 59, #1 Murphy (NC) Bulldogs 14

The first pass of the game for Gunner Stockton was picked off. That might have raised an eyebrow by some. But it was all Rabun County from there. The Cats scored 21 in the first, 17 in the second, and 21 in the third on the way to a 59-14 win over the defending state champions Murphy. Lang Windham had a rushing TD from 3 yards out, Stockton had a 36-yd rushing TD, and Stockton threw an 80-yd TD to Jaden Gibson to get Rabun out to a 21-0 lead after one. In the second, a Gus Hood 41-yard field goal, Stockton-to-Baxley O’Brien (4-yds), and another Windham TD run (4-yds) made it 31-zip into the break. Stockton connected in the third with O’Brien from a yard out to push it to 45-7, and Windham had a 24-yd TD run to make it 52-14. Stockton polished it off with an 80-yd TD to Ethan Clarke. Rabun had 566 total yards and allowed just 198. Stockton threw for 326 yards and 4 TD, and rushed for 84 and a TD. Windham had his best game of the season so far with 142 yards and 3 TD. Gibson closed with 197 receiving yards and a TD, while O’Brien had 35 yards and 2 TD and Clarke 110 yards and a TD. Knox McKinney had 7 tackles (3.5 for loss), forced 2 fumbles, and had a fumble recovery. Chris Thompson had 9 tackles (2.5 TFL), forced a fumble, and had a sack, while Jarrett Giles had an interception. It marks the 41st time ever Rabun scored 50-plus.

Banks County Leopards 26, Lumpkin County Indians 16

It was a great battle between a pair of winless teams, with Banks coming out on top with a 26-16 win, scoring their first points of the season in the process. The Leopards led 20-0 going into the break, but a TD and 2PC for Lumpkin made it 20-8 in the third. Harper Davenport had a timely interception for the Indians, who later got a safety to get within 26-10. A fumble recovery later led to a 1-yd rushing score for Cooper Scott to make it 26-16.

Dawson County Tigers 52, Northview Titans 7

The Tigers took out their frustration on the Titans in a 52-7 win, Dawson’s first of the year. Bailey Dameron topped 100 receiving yards yet again. Zach Holtzclaw slung a 22-yd TD to Dameron in the second to push it to 45-0 in a blowout. The 50-point output is the 20th time the Tigers have hit that mark in their history.

#1 Jefferson Dragons 41, Mountain View Bears 14

The Dragons wasted no time in a 41-14 win over Mountain View. Malaki Starks got 2 rushing TDs in the first to make it 14-0, Kadin Bailey pushed it to 21-0 near the end of the quarter, and Jefferson took a 28-0 lead late in the second on a Tre Reece TD. That score held into the half. Reece added a 40-yd TD to make it 34-0 with 7:48 left in the third. Max Aldridge threw a TD pass to Spencer Neese moments later, capping Jefferson’s scoring at 41-0 at the time.

#5 Stephens County Indians 19, Madison County Red Raiders 14

The Indians battled back after taking a 10-7 halftime lead and seeing it slip away to a 14-10 deficit at the end of the third. The Indians rallied to win 19-14 to remain undefeated at 4-0. Cam Lacy made several big plays, while Vadole Fleming sealed the win with an interception. First 4-0 start since 2012.

Elbert County Blue Devils 27, #8 Commerce Tigers 14

The Tigers suffered another shocking loss with a 27-14 defeat at Elbert. It was 13-0 after one, and the Tigers finally got on the board with a Dreylan Martin TD in the second. However, the Tigers trailed 20-7 going into the break. That score held into the fourth. Malachi Shockey scored the only other TD as Elbert won 27-14.

Towns County Indians 48, Baconton Charter Blazers 20

The Indians came away with a big road win, 48-20 at Baconton Charter.
