Indians Roll Past Trojans With Monster First Half [VIDEO]
Stephens County (2-0) rolled into a showdown against the Trojans (1-1) at the Brickyard, and made quick work of North Hall, taking a 28-0 halftime advantage into a 42-0 final. It marked the 22nd win in 23 tries in the all-time series.
The Indians got the party started with a Ben Stowe 3-yd rushing TD with 1:16 left in the opening quarter, and a Stowe-to-Cam Lacy 63-yd TD on the first play of the second quarter to stretch it to 14-0.
Stephens subsequently blocked a punt by the Trojans, and Vadole Fleming fell on it for the TD and 21-0 lead with 9:16 left in the second. With 2:16 on the clock, Tyson Everett scored from two yards out to make it 28-0.
The opening drive of the third saw Stowe connect with Kelton Cade, giving Stephens a commanding 35-0 lead. They would tack on another TD to cap the scoring. The win for Stephens was also the sixth straight in the series against the Trojans, and marked the second straight shutout (34-0 last season).
