The Biggest Upset – Madison County edging Habersham Central and Cass over Dawson County
THE LOCALS
#1 Jefferson Dragons 22, #1 Rabun County Wildcats 13
The Dragons came back from down 7-0 when Sammy Brown tied the game with a 78-yd TD run. Gunner Stockton had 2 TDs (one passing, one rushing) for the Wildcats, as Malaki Starks and Kadin Bailey aslo scored for Jefferson.

Stephens County Indians 34, White County Warriors 20
Stephens County made a statement with a 34-20 win over White County at home. The Warriors went up first with a Colton Turner pick six. Armand Cunningham tied it up with a 9-yd TD run. Darius Cannon responded immediately with a 97-yd kickoff return for a TD late in the second. Stephens copied that strategy, taking the next kickoff all the way by Cam’ron Lacy. Billy Carder had a 28-yd TD pass to Cannon to push it to 20-14 White County heading into the break.
Ben Stowe’s 5-yd TD run gave the Indians a 21-20 lead, and that swelled with a Stowe-to-Lacy 16-yd TD later in the third to make it 27-20.A Tyson Everette 51-yd TD run in the fourth polished off the scoring.
#5 Commerce Tigers 10, Banks County Leopards 0
Mark Hollars got a win in his first game at Commerce. Dreylan Martin kicked off the party with a 71-yd TD run in the first. After a lightning delay, neither team found the end zone going into the half. Ivy Tolbert knocked home a field goal to make it 10-0 heading into the fourth, and that held true to the final horn.
Cass Colonels 27, Dawson County Tigers 19
Dawson County saw a slim 9-6 halftime lead diminish in a 27-19 tough loss to open the season.

Towns County Indians 29, King’s Academy 6
The Indians earned a nice 29-6 opening-night victory on the road.
Madison County Red Raiders 28, Habersham Central Raiders 25
Habersham Central fell 28-25 in a nail-biter to open the 2021 season.
Franklin County Lions 20, Lumpkin County Indians 6
Franklin took an 8-0 lead going into the second half, which stretched to 14-0 by late in the third. The Lions made it 20-0 in the fourth before Lumpkin got on the board with a 27-yd TD pass.
Fannin County Rebels 34, Union County Panthers 7
The Panthers fell 34-7 in coach Michael Perry’s debut.
