Volleyball Preview 2021: Habersham Central

One of the area’s most consistent volleyball program has been Lindsay Herrin’s at Habersham Central. The Lady Raiders were held out of the playoffs despite fielding a solid group in 2020, and will look to contend once again in 2021.

Head Coach: Lindsay Herrin, 11th Season
2020 Record:
18-13; No Playoffs

“We expect to get better daily, be the hardest workers in every gym we enter, and relentlessly pursue the goals we have created together for our team,” claims Herrin. “We’ll continue to build a strong foundation for our future Lady Raider volleyball family.”

Personnel

Key Departures: Maddie Chosewood, Camryn Fricks, Madeline Koshuta (moved out of state)

Key Returning Players: SR Molly Butler, SR Abby Dini, SR Ansley McAllister, SR Maredith Anderson, JR Abbey Donaldson, JR Allie Church

Strength & Area of Focus

Strength: “We have a decent amount of varsity experience returning, including setter Abbey Donaldson’s consistency, grit, and leadership, Allie Church’s power and ability to make big plays, and a group of girls that’s put the team first,” states Herrin.

Focus: “Learning how to play to each other’s strengths, building confidence first as individuals then together as a team, doing the little things it takes to be successful (serve consistency, passing accuracy, reducing hitting errors),” says Herrin.
