Guards Gosnell, Craft Shoot Way to POW Awards


The Player of the Week Fan Vote for Boys Basketball Player of the Week earned 14,076 votes, with Banks County’s Clay Gosnell (6,436 votes) taking the top spot. BLITZ then picked Dawson’s Jake Craft as Co-POW.

CLAY GOSNELL – FAN VOTE

Clay Gosnell had a terrific 3-game span last week, averaging 15.3 points, 10 assists, and 5 boards per contest. The senior guard had totals of 46 PTS, 30 AST, and 15 REB in those games for the Leopards, who are currently ranked #10 in the state. This is Gosnell’s second career POW award.

This might be the best shooting we have ever seen in a one week period. In 3 games last week, senior guard Jake Craft has shot the lights out at Dawson County. The sharp-shooter totaled a mind-boggling 115 points over a 3-game span for the #10-ranked Tigers. He drained 21 3-pointers in the process. That’s an average of 38.3 points per game and 7 trays per contest. This is Craft’s first POW award.
