Commerce Well-Represented in Soccer All-State Recognition

It’s not quite soccer season, as we still have a few months to go. Still, Georgia High School Soccer announced its preseason All-State honorees.
For Commerce, Abby Tolbert (SR CB/Defender), Carson Hawkins (SR Defender/Mid), Chloe Diaz (SO Mid/F), Ivy Tolbert (FR Mid/F), and Kate Mill (SO Mid/F) all earned the distinction.
Honorable Mentions included Ermay Vasquez (SO), Hannah English (SR), Karis Allen (JR), Maggie Mullis (SR), and Rachel English (SO).
In short, the Commerce Lady Tigers are LOADED for 2021 and beyond. This coming season will see Commerce as an early favorite to go all the way and bring a title back to Commerce High School.
On the boys’ list, Commerce featured Eryck Aquirre-Diaz (SR Mid) and Jhonny Valle (JR F). Towns County’s Peyton Barrett (SR Mid) made the list also in 1A for the boys.
Other locals who made All-State were Rabun’s Lauren Barnes (Class 2A SR F/Mid; Columbus State commit) and Dawson’s Caleb Bonesteel (Class 3A SR Defender).
Some obvious oversights to Georgia HS Soccer’s All-State listings were the non-mention of Dawson girls soccer star Molly Muenchen, Lumpkin County’s Ashley Read, and many individuals from Habersham Central and Jefferson.
