Wildcats Giant First Quarter Leads to Blowout Win [VIDEO]

Rabun County shows no sign of slowing down after an easy 63-7 win at Elbert County. The #1-ranked Cats (8-1; 2-0 in 8-AA) laid claim to a seventh straight region championship game next week. Elbert County (2-5; 1-1) provided little resistance, as the Cats scored just over 40 seconds in on a Lang Windham 86-yd TD run as part of a 49-7 first half. Rabun scored 4 times in the first 5 minutes of play.
Windham scored a career-high 4 TD, including 3 in the first quarter. He collected 219 yards on the ground. Gunner Stockton threw 3 TD passes to Adriel Clark, and rushed for 2 more. He had 203 passing yards on 7-of-10 passes, and added 164 rushing yards. Clark had 190 yards on 4 catches.
After Windham’s electrifying 92-yd TD run, he scored again from 34 yards out less than a minute later. A 45-yd TD pass from Stockton to Clark less than two minutes after that blew the game wide open. Windham later in the first scored from 17 ticks out to go up 28-0.
Elbert got on the board with a 30-yd TD pass, but the QB was picked off three times by Sutton Jones. Before the first quarter ended, Stockton ran one in from over 20 yards out to push the lead to 35-7. He found Clark for a 50-yd and 19-yd TD before the break, as the Cats took a commanding 49-7 lead.
With a running clock throughout the entire second half, Rabun scored twice more – a Windham 43-yd TD and a 68-yd TD by Stockton to cap the scoring.
