Sullens (White), Corkery (Jefferson) named Habersham EMC Linemen of the Week

Brand New for 2020 – the Habersham EMC Linemen of the Week. Long have people asked for the guys who do the dirty work to get more recognition. Now, they do. Each week in the 2020 season, we will recognize an offensive lineman (or the full line as it is often a joint effort), and a defensive lineman, sponsored by Habersham EMC.
This week’s winners are OL Devin Sullens (White County) and DE Paxton Corkery (Jefferson).

DEVIN SULLENS – WHITE CO

Devin Sullens was the man left out the first round of OLOW awards, as the entire White County line got the honors. The senior guard was out for the Week 1 contest against Stephens. However, he shined in Week 3’s win for the Warriors. The senior recorded 6 takedowns, 5 pancake blocks, and allowed no sacks while grading out at 95%-plus.

OTHERS WHO STOOD OUT: Jefferson’s OLine, Stephens’ William Rudeseal (94%, 4 pancakes)

Jefferson’s Paxton Corkery has been electric so far this season. More recently though, he played a huge role in the Dragons’ tough win over #1-ranked Rabun County. The senior DE recorded two tackles for loss, two sacks, and three total tackles. He added three QB hurries.
OTHERS WHO STOOD OUT: Stephens’ Jahari Burns (9 TKL, 2 TFL, 2 QBH, 1 FF), Rabun’s Chris Thompson (4 TKL), Dawson’s Logan Berry (6 TKL, 2 TFL, 1 Sack), White’s Tyler Davis
