Mid-SEPTEMBER Softball Power Rankings

As we start to get closer to the final stretch of the 2020 season, we present to you our Mid-September Power Rankings!

#1 JEFFERSON

RECORD: 11-2 (7-1)
LAST RANKING: #1

Jefferson holds down the fort at number one, and are riding an 8-game win streak with only one blemish within region play so far this season. Things continue looking great for Jefferson.

#2 UNION COUNTY

RECORD: 8-1 (1-0)
LAST RANKING: #4

The Lady Panthers move up two spots after some hot play as of late, including a big win over former #2 in our rankings, Commerce. Union has won 7 in a row, and are off to a solid 1-0 start in region play, coming over defending state champions Banks.

#3 HABERSHAM CENTRAL

RECORD: 11-6 (5-3)
LAST RANKING: #3

The Lady Raiders stand pat at number three in our rankings, and continue to have a very impressive showing in region and overall this season. Despite a couple of losses in row, the sky is the limit for this talented group, who recently won a 17-16 thriller over Winder-Barrow.

#4 COMMERCE

RECORD: 10-6-1 (7-0)
LAST RANKING: #2

Commerce drops a couple of spots after suffering a loss to Union that switches them with the Lady Panthers in our latest rankings. Still, this team is built to win a title. Within region play, they’re proving to be unbeatable at 7-0.

#5 LUMPKIN COUNTY

RECORD: 10-7 (8-2)
LAST RANKING: #6

The Lady Indians are up to fifth in our rankings, and are looking just like a region champion would be expected to look. The girls have won four of their last five, and aside from Gilmer (twice), have not lost a region game.

#6 WHITE COUNTY

RECORD: 7-6 (6-4)
LAST RANKING: #7

The Lady Warriors are up a spot, but have lost three in a row now. They’ll look to get back on track with a schedule that shows they could be in for a good run here next week.

#7 BANKS COUNTY

RECORD: 7-8 (0-1)
LAST RANKING: #5

Banks County slides down to seventh in our rankings after an 0-1 start in region and dropping five of the past eight games overall. It’s all about peaking at the right time, which this team knows how to do.

#8 STEPHENS COUNTY

RECORD: 5-10 (3-2)
LAST RANKING: #11

The Lady Indians are finally getting some traction, and move up three spots. The team that once was 0-9 is now 5-10. That includes a solid start in region play.

#9 DAWSON COUNTY

RECORD: 3-6 (2-6)
LAST RANKING: #9

Dawson stays consistent in the number nine spot of our rankings. There is a lot of work to be done if this team has playoff dreams. They still control their own destiny, though.

#10 RABUN COUNTY

RECORD: 4-6 (0-1)
LAST RANKING: #8

The Lady Cats have slid down a couple of rungs on the ladder, but are still for sure going to be in the playoffs. That gives them time to figure some things out in the back half of the season.

#11 TOWNS COUNTY

RECORD: 5-5 (0-3)
LAST RANKING: #10

Towns County is overall better than you might imagine with missing some key pieces. The Lady Indians still seek that first region win though.
