Habersham EMC Linemen of the Week – Jahari Burns (DL), Habersham Central O-Line

Brand New for 2020 – the Habersham EMC Linemen of the Week. Long have people asked for the guys who do the dirty work to get more recognition. Now, they do. Each week in the 2020 season, we will recognize an offensive lineman (or the full line as it is often a joint effort), and a defensive lineman, sponsored by Habersham EMC.
This week’s winners are Jahari Burns (Stephens) as the DL of the Week, while Habersham Central’s OLine earns the distinction as well.

HABERSHAM CENTRAL O-LINE

It was historic what Jackson Clouatre did for Habersham Central, racking up 305 rushing yards. But he definitely could not have done it without some great play from the guys up front.
Those guys are Pierce Vickery (Senior), Butch Cassidy (Senior), Ethan Tomlin (Senior), Parker Behrends (Senior), and Ryan Jones (Junior). They paved the way to 625 yards of offense, graded out over 90%, and led the way to 8 touchdowns and 56 total points.

OTHERS WHO STOOD OUT: Rabun County’s OLine, Towns County’s OLine, Stephens’ Walker Thomason, Jefferson’s Colton Steele and Colton Dufresne, Union County’s Aaron Helton

JAHARI BURNS – STEPHENS CO

Stephens County’s Jahari Burns earns the honors after a solid game in helping Stephens County shut down the triple-option attack of North Hall. Controlling the line, the senior Burns had 5 tackles, 2 for loss, one sack, and a hurry. This kept North Hall off the board in the 34-0 win for the Indians.
