Jefferson’s Starks racking up the offers
The Jefferson Dragons have a star junior athlete who continues to earn the attention of colleges across the nation. To date, Malaki Starks, a consensus 4-star athlete by Rivals and ESPN, but a 5-star by 247 sports with a .992 grade. He is listed at 6’1 and 196 pounds, and is classified as an “Athlete” by position.
He’s the #16 overall recruit in the nation for the Class of 2022 by 247 Sports, and the #4 athlete. He’s ranked #2 in the state of Georgia overall. He’s in the same class as nearby 5-star QB, Gunner Stockton (Rabun County). On ESPN’s board, he’s the #30 recruit overall in the country as a 4-star, with a #4 athlete rank and #5 overall in the state.
As the offers now quickly come Starks’ way, he has 16 known on the table. Of those, big-time programs like Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Georgia Tech, LSU, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, South Carolina, Tennessee, USC, and Virginia Tech are in on the mix.
Last season as a sophomore for the Dragons, his state line looked like this: 537 rush yds, 5 TD; 136 rec yds, 2 TD; 63 KR yds; 24 TKL, 1.5 TFL, 5 INT (1 TD), 3 PD, 1 FumRec.
Starks will move to the QB position for Jefferson in 2020.
