Volleyball Preview 2020: Lumpkin County

22 wins from last season marks the high-mark for Lumpkin in its 11-year history. Making state for the second straight year is also a first…what does this mean for 2020?

Head Coach: Haley Dibble, 2nd Season
2019 Record: 22-21; State Round One; Region Runner-Up
The program is just two years removed from a Sweet 16 run back in 2018. While that was a special feat, last year was better even if the season ended a round earlier. 22 wins (school record) also meant a first-ever winning season. Overall, the Lady Indians have made state three times in 11 years, and have had six different head coaches.
Personnel
Key Departures: N/A
Key Returning Players: Victoria Crotzer, Isabel Davenport, Kiersta Trammell, MaKenzie Caldwell, Reagan Spivey
This team is loaded and primed for its best season yet, with all the playmakers back.
Strengths & Areas of Focus
Strengths: Experience and leadership. See the group above. All had Player of the Year type of seasons last year. Imagine another year of that.
Focusing On: Navigating a wide-open 7-AAA region. White County and Dawson both made the Elite 8, so nothing will come easy for Lumpkin.
