MATTHEW WEIDNER (BLITZ PICK)
Matthew Weidner has had a fantastic senior season, one that has resulted in getting Tallulah Falls into the state tournament. In his lone game last week, the Indians forward dropped in 25 points against Riverside, getting him to 1,365 career points. That mark set a new school record, and earned him his first Player of the Week award.
“I am very grateful for my four years at TFS and the opportunities basketball has given me,” Weidner said of the accomplishment. “It is an honor and a blessing to be a part of Indian basketball history.”
Coach Cody Coleman said it had been a privilege to coach the senior.
“Players with his talent, skill, and work ethic do not come around often,” Coleman said. “He has an exceptional ability to score and is a great all-around player. Off the court, Matthew’s character matches his abilities on the court. He is an outstanding young man and he has a very bright future in front of him.”
