Union cruises to Sweet 16; End of the road for White, Rabun, Habersham & Stephens

Five local programs took the field on Thursday evening for a chance at extending their seasons in the opening round of the state playoffs. Four of the teams ended their season, while Union County was the sole group on Thursday night to move on.

Alexander 2, Habersham Central Lady Raiders 1

The Lady Raiders (6-10) fell in a heartbreaking 2-1 loss to end their season against Alexander.

Heritage 1, White Co Lady Warriors 0

White County (13-4) fell in a narrow 1-0 loss at Heritage, taking the home team to the brink of an early exit. The Lady Warriors close out their historic season.

LaGrange 2, Stephens Co Lady Indians 1

The Lady Indians (7-8-1) played perhaps one of the best games all season for the entire team, but fell just short in a 2-1 loss at LaGrange to end their season.

Union Co Lady Panthers 8, Temple 0

The Lady Panthers (11-2-1) enjoyed a quick 8-0 win over Temple. In the victory, Madison Yost continued to make history, eclipsing 100 career goals! Union moves on to face Gordon Central in the next round.

Lamar Co 12, Rabun Co Lady Wildcats 2

The Lady Cats (4-4-1) fell 12-2 to Lamar County on the road, ending their season.
