Carl Cleveland put on a display with a 34-point, 10-rebound, 6-assist near triple-double in a 78-63 Banks County win over visiting Rabun Saturday evening.
The Wildcats (1-6; 0-2) had a 26-point first quarter and shot the lights out to open the game. Kasin Old had 10 points in the first half, while Chase Buchanan had 8 to give Rabun early life.
The Rabun shooting spree had it up 26-15 after one quarter, and held the lead until late in the second quarter. Banks County (5-4; 2-0) remained perfect in Region 8-AA with the win, as Cleveland put up 14 in the first half.
By halftime, Banks reclaimed the lead 43-36, and led by nine after the third quarter. Rabun stayed in the mix, but Cleveland and Dakota Orr’s 19-point, 13-rebound double-double guided the Leopards to victory. Wes Ledford had 11 points and 8 rebounds for Banks as well. Orr ignited the crowd with four dunks in the game.
For Cleveland (30.2 pts/game), he has not scored fewer than 21 points in game this season, and has scored 30-plus five times, including four straight games and has seven double-doubles.
