Cooper, Yeh take POW awards

The BLITZ Fan Vote for Boys Basketball Player of the Week was Hunter Cooper (Lumpkin County) after taking 7,020 of the 13,029 total votes. BLITZ then named Jadon Yeh (White County) as Co-POW.
HUNTER COOPER – LUMPKIN COUNTY

The senior guard shot 50% from long range, splashing 7 3-pointers. He also averaged 4.0 rebounds per game. This is Cooper’s second POW award of the season and third of his career.

JADON YEH – WHITE COUNTY

It’s rare for a high school player to hit 30 in a game. It’s elite when they hit 40. We were on hand to witness one of Jadon Yeh’s all-time best performances, and it carried with it 41 points despite him sitting out pretty much the full fourth quarter in a win over Lumpkin. The #9-ranked Warriors got a record performance from their senior guard, ashe went 7/10 from downtown (70%), 7/13 on all other field goals (54%), 6/6 at the free throw line (100%), and scored 41 points, hauled in 5 rebounds, dished out 4 assists, and added a block for good measure. It was an unreal night for Yeh, who takes his second POW award of the season and 5th of his career.
