Each week throughout the school year, we recognize the teams who we feel stood out the most. Teams of the Week are presented by Cofield Outdoors!

FOOTBALL – WHITE COUNTY WARRIORS & LUMPKIN COUNTY INDIANS

Two-fold here. White County stormed back from 14-0 down, and grabbed their fourth win of the season heading into their BYE week. The Warriors continue to battle back and play relentlessly. Lumpkin County meanwhile earned a huge win to stay unbeaten at 4-0. What’s more, they lost their defensive coordinator, Brian Allison, a BLITZ Legendary Coach, to cancer just before kickoff.

SOFTBALL – BANKS COUNTY LADY LEOPARDS

Banks County earns its second Team of the Week honor of the season. The Lady Leopards are heading up, going 3-0 this past week with wins over Dacula, Rabun County, and Providence Christian by a combined 27-9. That moves the current win streak to now 12 games for Banks, and the overall record stands at 19-2 with a 6-0 mark in region play. With an 11-0 record at home, and a #1 overall state ranking, Banks County has outslugged all opponents 193-49.

• AUG 17-22: Lumpkin County Lady Indians

VOLLEYBALL – WHITE COUNTY LADY WARRIORS

The Lady Warriors won all three of their matches this week, going 7-1 overall in sets played. It started with a 2-1 gritty win over Pickens in region play, then came a 2-0 win over region rivals Chestatee before a 3-0 win over Stephens County to close out the week. White County is now 19-12 overall and 5-2 in region play.

GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY – UNION COUNTY LADY PANTHERS

Union County’s girls won the North Georgia XC Championship meet in Ellijay, coming in first over four teams. Kate Barrett was 5th, Neva Brott 6th, and Tessa Schurter (8th), Julia Adams (9th), and Macy Payne (10th) all rounded out the top-10. And for the record…none of those girls are seniors!

BOYS CROSS COUNTRY – LUMPKIN COUNTY INDIANS

Witt Windham won Saturday morning’s Apple Hawkins Invitational race. Lumpkin County came in 5th-place overall in what was a stacked meet. Nickson McGillivray was 10th individually to help bolster the Indians.
