Golf Area/Region Championship Results

Local golf teams over the past week or so have wrapped up their Region/Area Championship matches. Here are the results of our local programs.
NOTE – help us fill in any gaps if you have any insight on area/region tournaments
BANKS COUNTY
The Leopards finished their season with a 5th place finish at the Area Tournament.
COMMERCE
The Lady Tigers’ Kristin Tash won the Area Title as the girls finished as Runner-Up and clinched a state spot. Henry Sharpton led Commerce boys to another state playoff berth with a 3rd place finish.
DAWSON COUNTY
The Tigers finished as Region Runner-Up to claim a state playoff spot. The girls finished 4th overall.

HABERSHAM CENTRAL
The Lady Raiders won the Area Title as Selah Anderson shot a 76 to win the low medalist Area Championship title. That gives Habersham a spot at state. The Raiders advanced to Sectionals, finishing 3rd with Smith Caudell carding a 77 to lead HC.
JEFFERSON
No info reported at this time.
LUMPKIN COUNTY
The Lumpkin boys came in 7th and the girls 8th in the Region Tournament, thus ending their respective seasons.
RABUN COUNTY
The Rabun County boys placed 3rd, qualifying for the state tournament. The girls’ results are not yet known.
STEPHENS COUNTY
The Lady Indians didn’t qualify for state, but Katie Grace Randall did as an individual after carding an 88.

TALLULAH FALLS
The Tallulah Falls girls won the Area Championship behind Maggie Jackson’s 1-under 71 performance (low medalist). The Lady Indians have qualified for state.

UNION COUNTY
Union boys were led by Braedon Gay, who carded an 88.
WHITE COUNTY
White County’s girls won the Region Championship with a low medalist performance and Region Championship by senior Catie Craig (shot a 71). The Lady Warriors are going to state! The Warriors finished 4th, and Jacob Adams (77) earned an individual spot at state.
