Week Seven is in the books. Here’s what went down on Friday night.
The Most Dramatic – North Hall beating White County 34-31 in OT
The Biggest Blowout – Gilmer over Lumpkin 62-7 & notable, Rabun County 63-17 over Pope
The Biggest Upset – North Hall over White County
North Hall 34, #7 White County 31 (OT)
After taking a 10-0 lead, White County saw North Hall storm back and tie it at 17 going into the break. The Trojans, who never throw the ball, had two passing scores and took a 24-17 lead going into the fourth. Riley Stancil twice hooked up with Darius Cannon for game-tying scores in the fourth to tie it at 24 and again at 31. With the Warriors playing without star QB J Ben Haynes, they lost in overtime when North Hall got a chip shot field goal to sneak inside the right uprights. Cannon had three TD for the Warriors.
#2 Buford 44, Habersham Central 7
The Raiders held their own for awhile, trailing 17-7 until Buford went on a tear to pull away with a 37-point win in a region battle.
#3 Commerce 35, Greene County 0
Not much of a contest here for the Tigers, as they opened region play with an easy win. The halftime score also proved to be the final as Sammy Brown, Michael Sherman, Jack Fagan (recovered blocked punt), Elijah Burns, and Trey Huff each recorded a TD.
#1 Rabun County 63, Pope 17
Gunner Stockton made his career-best 8 TD performance from last week look like habit. He matched that with another 8 total TD. He completed 14-of-19 for 273 with 6 TD against no picks, and rushed for 124 and 2 scores. Adriel Clark had 8 catches for 212 yards and 4 TD, and Lang Windham had two rushing and two receiving scores. Rabun went up 21-0 after one quarter and stretched it to 42-14 at the half. At that point, Stockton had 4 passing TD and 2 rushing. He threw 2 more TDs in the second half as the Cats had 542 yards of offense. Garrett Horton tallied the final passing score to Clark.
Monroe Area 41, Stephens County 21
The Indians got doubled up essentially in their region opener, falling 41-21 against Monroe Area.
Gilmer 62, Lumpkin County 7
The Indians still seek win number one after falling 62-7 to Gilmer.

Gainesville 42, Lambert 35
