*8-AA region game
The Wildcats’ schedule is very unique in its non-region slate covering out-of-state programs that will me quick and frequent tests while going up against the South Carolina circuit of Daniel, Greenwood, Walhalla, and Pickens. Also out of region will be some incredibly difficult opponents in Prince Avenue Christian (2nd Round) and Oconee County (State Runner-Up in 2019), as well as St. Francis (2nd Round) in the scrimmage. Ironically, both Oconee and St. Francis feature head coaches that the Stephens County folks will recall – Travis Noland at Oconee and Frank Barden at St. Francis.
The 8-AA slate features fewer games than in years past with the new alignment. The much-anticipated, annual region title game against Union County will still happen in the finale for Rabun, but will not come on the actual final week of the regular season. The Cats will use their bye weeks in Week 12 (November 6) as well as Week 7 (October 2).
Rabun County is coming off a 12-1 season that saw Shaw and his elite QB Gunner Stockton run the table in the regular season, earning a 6th straight region championship and making a 5th consecutive quarterfinal berth.
