Stars combine for 10 TDs, share Player of the Week honors

Dawson County’s Dakohta Sonnichsen (4,823 votes) took the most of the 12,783 total votes for Player of the Week, just holding off teammate Zach Holtzclaw (4,474). Gunner Stockton (Rabun) was the BLITZ Pick Player of the Week.

Junior Dakohta Sonnichsen was straight up unstoppable against North Hall. He hauled in six passes for 200 yards, and added 35 rushing yards, scoring 3 total TDs (2 receiving, 1 rushing). The Tigers’ standout season continues, as he’s become the swiss army knife on offense, recording 838 receiving yards and 8 TD, along with 545 rushing yards and another 5 TDs. That gives close to 1,400 total yards and 13 TD.

Well, whether you’re a fan or not, you can’t deny a 7-TD game with over 420 yards of offense against the unbeaten, #6-team in the state, for a region championship…on the road! Gunner Stockton continues to add to his accolades with another epic performance in which he had a hand in all 7 scores for the #1-ranked Wildcats.

He passed for 251 yards and 2 TD, and ran for 167 and 5. This included his 100th career touchdown, an 8-yard run to open the second quarter at Union. So here’s where he’s at:
