Juniors bash their way to Player of the Week honors

Banks County’s Madison Cronic once again has earned Player of the Week honors after collecting 12,522 votes of the possible 26,855, or 47%. BLITZ then named Commerce’s Rachel Morgan Co-Player of the Week.

MADISON CRONIC (FAN VOTE)

This may feel familiar, and that’s because it is. Madison Cronic, the junior shortstop for the Lady Leopards, has saved her best play for the end of the season. After earning the POW honor last week following a solid first round performance (.833 AVG, 3 RBI, 7 R), she followed it up with an arguably better Sweet 16 act. Against Bacon County, Cronic’s bat was sizzling, as she hit .750 with a homer, 3 RBI, and a double. She recorded an .850 OBP and 1.750 SLG, while playing a perfect shortstop for the #1-ranked Lady Leopards (28-3), who are heading to Columbus today. This is Cronic’s third such honor this season.
