Consistency is the word for Crystal Busbee, the Union County ’15 product who has shined at Emmanuel College and now Georgia Gwinnett College. The sun begins to set on her softball career, but Busbee has relished the moments so far.
“College softball has given me countless opportunities to build character, meet new people, and play the game I love,” says Busbee. “GGC softball continually has developed me as a player and pushed me to reach new levels in the game. I am very thankful for the opportunity to be here and play as a Grizzly!”
A .292 career hitter at the college level, Busbee has a grand total of 3 homers, 56 RBI, 85 runs scored, 29 doubles, 4 triples, 12 stolen bases, and 44 walks to her credit. She’s currently batting .318 as a senior this year, with a homerun and 11 RBI. Her first season for the Grizzlies (2018) saw her hit .278 with 11 RBI.
Her two seasons at Emmanuel proved to be the best statistically due to the number of at-bats she received as a star in the lineup. She hit .292 in two seasons for Emmanuel, blasting 2 homers and driving in 34 runs, adding 17 doubles as well as 10 stolen bases.
Busbee’s numbers are perfectly in line with what she did as a Lady Panther from 2012-15, as she ended her high school career with a .298 average, 44 RBI, 98 runs, and 21 doubles.
Busbee and the Grizzlies are 15-5 so far this season, and return to action Wednesday against Ave Maria (FL) in a double-header.
