For now the third week in a row, Banks County fans voted their guy the Fan Vote Player of the Week award, helping senior Terrence Walker get his second in the past three weeks. Senior teammate Jacob Lehotsky won the Fan Vote last week.
After 6,183 votes, it was Walker with 3,146 votes who topped Commerce QB Nate Ray (1,898).
Rabun’s Gunner Stockton, who had five TDs last Friday night in just one half, was also named the BLITZ pick Player of the Week, also his second of the year.
Walker, who now has 660 rushing yards on the season, tallied another 85 in a big region win for the Leopards. Walker, who was the Fan Vote Player of the Week two weeks prior, had two touchdowns in the win and added another 20 yards on a reception. He has 10 touchdowns on the season.
For the second time this year, freshman Gunner Stockton earns a BLITZ Player of the Week award after a stellar two quarters against Monticello.
The starters for Rabun rarely ever play a full game, and Stockton notched five scores in just 24 minutes. He was 16-for-23 passing for 197 yards, completing 70% of his passes for two touchdowns. He also rushed for a career-high 82 yards on just seven carries (11.7 yards/carry) with also a career-best three rushing scores.
