Week Two is in the books! Here are the scores and relevant information for each of the local contests.

BANKS COUNTY 29, WEST HALL 12

After going 0-10 last season amid turmoil, it’s time to get excited for Banks County football. The Leopards won their second straight game to start the season, beating West Hall 29-12 in covincing fashion.

#7 COMMERCE 21, EAST JACKSON 13

The Tigers punched back on East Jackson, getting revenge from last season’s thriller in a 21-13 victory at home. Marco Huff had an early 56-yd TD, and the game was tied at 7-7 going into the break. In the second half, Tate Kirk found Mason Brown for a late third quarter score to take the lead. Huff added a fourth quarter score to seal the win for Commerce.

EAST FORSYTH 37, DAWSON COUNTY 24

The Tigers fell to 0-2 on the season with a tough 37-24 defeat in their home opener. Dawson County rallied from being down 37-3 at the half before finishing strong with a defensive clinic in the second half.

FRANKLIN COUNTY 55, EAST HALL 14

The Lions move to 2-0 with a blowout win of 55-14 over East Hall, marking a second straight week piling on more than 50 points.

HABERSHAM CENTRAL 45, #10 STEPHENS COUNTY 7

Still worried about the Raiders? Nah, neither are we. Habersham (1-1) won their most lopsided game in…well, EVER over the rivals Stephens County in a 45-7 final. Paris Wilbanks had three 1st-half rushing TDs, and added a fourth in the second half. Kinley Bee and Braden Shook each had a rushing touchdown as well. Ashton Winters had the lone TD for the Indians, who move to 0-2.

#5 JEFFERSON 55, WESTSIDE (SC) 21

The Dragons (1-1) notched their first win of the season in a home blowout of Westside (SC), 55-21. Jefferson started out hot, with rushing TDs from CJ Hays and Jacob Berardinelli. Boone Horn then had a TD pass to Austen Kitchings. Carter Perrin had an electric 81-yd kickoff return for a TD before Eli Primm added a short yardage rushing score. Horn then found Perrin for a 22-yd TD before the half, which was 41-21 at the time. Perrin added his third TD of the game with a pick six for 41 yards in the third. Sean Moon added the final staple in the win with a rushing score.

LUMPKIN COUNTY 42, PICKENS COUNTY 28

The Indians start the season 2-0 with a big 42-28 win over Pickens. Lumpkin had to grind it out, as the game was tied at 7-7 after one and 21-21 at the half. Lumpkin took a lead going into the final quarter, and held it down from there.

#5 RABUN COUNTY 27, METTER 23

Rabun County posted a gritty 27-23 win in the season and home opener. The Wildcats got the win over a Metter team coached by former Rabun County legendary coach Lee Shaw.

WHITE COUNTY 20, UNION COUNTY 14 (OT)

The Panthers pounced early with a pair of TDs in the first by Chetley Cox rushing and then passing to Jax Dillinger. The Warriors responded in a big way, as Savion Anderson cut the deficit in half in the second with a rushing TD. Despite two missed field goals, White County knotted it up on a TD run by Jack Clark. In overtime, Union County fumbled on the first play, and White County scored a few plays later on a 13-yd walkoff TD by Anderson. That makes the Warriors 2-0 to open the year, and Union is now 0-2.
