Each week throughout the school year, we recognize the teams who we feel stood out the most. Teams of the Week are presented by Cofield Outdoors!

FOOTBALL – JEFFERSON DRAGONS

The Dragons used a heavy passing attack in a 30-0 blowout win over Jackson Maynard to even the record to 2-2. Jefferson has lost both of its road games by a combined nine points, both against top-5 opponents. The resounding victory over Jackson Maynard continues to instill confidence in this team.

SOFTBALL – STEPHENS COUNTY LADY INDIANS

The Lady Indians came away with three wins this past week. It started with an 8-0 win over East Jackson, then came a 13-7 win against Habersham Central. Finally, a region victory over Hart County (15-6) capped the week. Stephens is now 11-4 overall and 4-3 in region play.

VOLLEYBALL – UNION COUNTY LADY PANTHERS

Union County earns TOW honors for a second time this year. The win streak is now at 14, as the Lady Panthers won four in a row this week – all straight-set wins over Pickens, Rabun Gap, Murray County, and Sonoraville. Union County is now 27-3 on the season and off to a 2-0 start in region play.

GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY – JEFFERSON LADY DRAGONS

Jefferson’s girls won the North Oconee Inv meet. Georgie Howell has 5th, Ansley Boyd 8th, and Ariana Smith 12th. It’s back-to-back weeks for the Lady Dragons, who are peaking at the right time.

BOYS CROSS COUNTRY – UNION COUNTY PANTHERS

Union County placed 2nd this week at the North Hall Invite. The Panthers were led by Maddux Oakey (3rd), Andrew Nushtayev (8th), Ander Faulkner (9th), and Oliver Hillman (11th) in a dominant effort. It’s back-to-back for the Panthers for Team of the Week, and third time overall.
