
Here’s what transpired on Friday night, which marked Week Nine.
White County 25, Dawson County 20
The Warriors notched their first win of the season in a 25-20 final in a game that featured six turnovers. The Warriors had a couple early field goals, while Dawson had a TD pass from Gunnar Weaver to Brody Sorensen. Alex Freeman had TD passes to Zach Godfrey and Gaines Clark, and Freeman rushed in the game-winner with a few minutes to go. The Tigers also had a score from Cody McBrayer and a pick-six by Jacob Felkai, and Reid Penrose for the Warriors sealed the win with a goal line interception.
Habersham Central 40, Alcovy 14
The Raiders jumped all over Alcoy in a 40-14 game, as the Raiders advance to 6-2 overall and 4-0 in region play. Donnie Warren had a third straight 200-yard rushing game, this time totaling three rushing TDs and one receiving.
Elbert County 45, Banks County 0
The Leopards got shut out, 45-0 against Elbert County.

#2 Jefferson 54, East Hall 0
The Dragons shut down the high-scoring Vikings in a 54-0 final. Chance Payne set the tone with an 85-yd kickoff return for a TD to start the game. Colton Grant added a rushing score, then CJ Hays had a 4-yd TD to make it 21-0 after the first. Shyne Parham got a key interception, and Hays scored again before Darren Pinkard got involved with an INT. Dalton Dye had a TD run, and Pinkard had a 3-yd score for a 41-0 halftime lead. Parham had added a second pick before the break. In the second half, Bo Parker had a 98-yd pick six, and Sean Moon added a 10-yd TD to round out the scoring.
Lumpkin County 49, Johnson 0
The Indians punched Johnson 49-0 in a very quick contest. Lumpkin County forced a second half running clock in the process. Coach Heath Webb became Lumpkin’s all-time winningest coach in the victory. Nolan Matthews had a couple early TD runs, Caleb Wendl added onther, and Mason Hester threw a TD to Martin Hulsey before Caleb Yorkey polished it off with score. Joseph Alvarez and Kolson Howell also had rushing touchdowns.

Oglethorpe County 28, #3 Rabun County 19
Oh boy…the most shocking result of the season here. The Wildcats went to Oglethorpe and got outmatched 28-19. The Wildcats couldn’t get much going, and had several key players out. Rabun tied it at 7-7 on a 42-yd TD pass from Ty Truelove to Colter Cannon. Still, Oglethorpe led 21-7 at the half. Truelove hit Reid Giles for a 19-yd TD to cut it to 21-13 late in the third. Truelove added a rushing TD from three yards out late in the game to pull within 28-19.
Towns County 29, Spartanburg Christian (SC) 22
The Indians again survived with a last-second hold on defense on 4th and 1 with 1:06 remaining. After trailing 22-7 at the half, Towns County stormed back for the win. Alex Baert had two rushing TDs, Sam Sarafin had one and Dustin Barrett added a TD pass to Kam Mooney.
