Kyle Davis was a standout all season at Jefferson, and following his stellar performance at the GHSA State Championships, he is now BLITZ Swimmer of the Year.

Kyle Davis placed in the top-5 in 3 events, including 2 individual events. The sophomore was 4th at the State Championships in the 50 Free, posting a time of 21.49. He was 5th in the 100 Fly at 51.78, and took part in 2 relay groups. In the 200 Free Relay, his group was 5th (1:29.96), and he was 8th in the 200 Medley Relay (1:40.73).

Voting included our 17-person panel made up of sports reporters, writers, video producers, former coaches, players, GHSA officials, and sports experts. The voting is Heisman-style, with the following points system:
1st place votes: 5 pts; 2nd: 3 pts; 3rd: 2 pts; 4th: 1 pts; 5th-6th: 0.5 pts; 7th-8th 0.25 pts

All finalists received at least one 1st-place vote, but Kyle Davis was undeniably the top selection with 15 of the 17 1st-place tallies.

It’s just the second-ever BLITZ Boys Swimmer of the Year award, and it goes to Kyle Davis. He’s the first sophomore and first from Jefferson, obviously. He will have a chance to reclaim this a couple more times.
