Remillard, Brown earn Player of the Week
The BLITZ Fan Vote for Football Player of the Week saw 26,560 votes come in, with Marcus Remillard (Rabun) taking the most at 12,101. BLITZ then named Sammy Brown (Jefferson) as Co-POW.
MARCUS REMILLARD – RABUN COUNTY
Marcus Remillard is new to the scene for the Wildcats. He’s quickly showcasing his ability to send footballs through the uprights. In the Week Two win over Stephens County, Remillard booted a 22- and 29-yd FG with ease, and his field goals were the difference in the 14-7 win for #2-ranked Rabun County. This is Remillard’s first POW award.

SAMMY BROWN – JEFFERSON
Sammy Brown is picking up right where he left off. The junior 5-star recruit, courted by nearly ever Power Five team in the country, showcased once again why he might be the best player in the area in the 56-28 win for the #7-ranked Dragons over #3 Wren (SC). Brown rumbled for 178 yards and 4 TD, adding 9 receiving yards as well. On the flip side, he totaled 10 tackles and came up with an interception. This is Brown’s fifth career POW award.
