Katie Grace Randall had a stellar season in 2022 for the Lady Indians. Though the team didn’t qualify for state, the senior came up huge all year. She averaged a 40 across 9-holes and 81 as an 18-hole average. In the area championship, Randall finished as the champion individually, qualifying for state. At the 3A State Championships, she carded an 85 and 84 in the two rounds, coming in 7th overall.
Voting included our 17-person panel made up of sports reporters, writers, video producers, former coaches, players, GHSA officials, and sports experts. The voting is Heisman-style, with the following points system:
1st place votes: 5 pts; 2nd: 3 pts; 3rd: 2 pts; 4th: 1 pts; 5th-6th: 0.5 pts; 7th-8th 0.25 pts
Katie Grace Randall takes 13 1st-place votes to win the honors, and it wasn’t really close. Three others took a single 1st-place votes, but Randall edged out all others.
Katie Grace Randall is the third senior in the last two years to win the award. She’s the first from Stephens County to ever claim it.
