Sanders claims ‘Last Finalist’ spot for Baseball POY


After narrowing down a list of 38 baseball players to just seven finalists, we opened it up for a public vote to add the LAST FINALIST. 19,009 votes were logged in total, and 6,421 of those were in favor of Rabun County’s Keilin Sanders.
Sanders, a standout sophomore, logged a .393 average, drove in 12 runs while scoring 27, and registered a 1.064 OPS. Sanders joins Drew Bates (Tallulah Falls), Connor Chastain (Towns), Hampton Hutto (Commerce), Jake Johnson (White), Nick Mullinax (Dawson), Cruz Mullinix (Stephens), and Jase Peoples (Jefferson) as the eight finalists up for BLITZ Player of the Year. BLITZ will vote internally Heisman-style for the winner.
